The Paris Court of Appeal has upheld a decision to fine recruitment giant Adecco €34m (£29.8m) over an anti-trust case involving the firm, Adia France and their main competitors in France.

The fine, originally imposed by French Competition Council in February of last year, will not be appealed by Adecco, it said in a statement.

British food manufacturer Premier Foods reports that 75% of the 16 permanent recruiters who last year invested £10,000 each in the company’s “mutual investment” in business development initiative have confirmed their interest in taking part for a second year.

Fiona Coombe, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s (REC) director of professional services and company secretary, is leaving the organisation to pursue other interests.
