Fiona Coombe, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s (REC) director of professional services and company secretary, is leaving the organisation to pursue other interests.

The former solicitor, who held posts with insurance firm Eagle Star and law firms Sharpe Pritchard and Wright Morris, started with FRES, the REC’s predecessor organisation in 1998, and under her leadership, established the REC’s legal helpline in 2004.

This marks the second high-profile departure from the REC this summer, following former head of policy Anne Fairweather’s appointment at the British Bankers Association last month.

Angela Masters, chair of the REC, says: “Fiona has been a wonderful servant of the recruitment industry and the REC during the past 12 years and has been a joy to work with. We wish her all the best and will continue to use her expertise to the benefit of members, albeit in a different guise.”
