As Greece continues to reel from the impact of its debt crisis, the country’s executives are increasingly looking abroad for opportunities.
Iraklis Papadopolous, principal and country manager, Greece at Pedersen & Partners, told Recruiter that with many senior executives in Greece being made redundant, there was “a lot of interest in relocating into other markets”.
An interim management statement from recruiter Michale Page has seen gross profit rates fall to 26.5% in Q3 2011.
A trading statement says: “As markets weaken and become more unpredictable, our short-term visibility reduces, particularly in respect of permanent placements.
More than half of over 50s who have been made redundant in the past three years have had to take a completely different role or work in a new sector to get back into employment, according to research from equity release adviser Key Retirement Solutions.
The research also shows over-50s take on average 4.7 months to get back into work.
“Very strong” growth from Michael Page’s Latin America operations have helped the international recruiter record increased profits, according to its Q1 and H1 trading update.
The update reveals:

Procurement recruitment specialist GPA Procurement has relaunched.
GPA ended its partnership with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply earlier this year.

An InterContinental Hotels spokesperson told Recruiter: “We are opening 28 hotels in the UK over the next two to three years.
IT recruiter Parity Group is preparing for growth as it has seen a return to operating profit, according to interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2011.
The group’s results reveal:
· Group revenues of £40.80m (2010: £52.59m); up 1% on H2 2010
· Parity Solutions1 returned to operating profit at £0.12m2 (2010: £1.63m loss3)
