Britain’s hospitality sector has been boosted by the number of Brits booking Easter breaks within the UK, according to recruiters.

Research from Visit Britain shows that while similar numbers of Brits booked Easter breaks, most were opting to book a break in the UK.

Rec-to-rec recruiter McCall has shifted its focus as smaller agencies continue to build business.

Nick Bancroft, joint managing director of rec-to-rec recruiter McCall, told Recruiter: “It tends to be the smaller agencies who are still hiring,” adding the IT sector has done particularly well in adapting to a sales-focused environment. 

A man accused of killing a driver recruitment agency boss had the case against him adjourned yesterday (20 April, 2009), according to online news service Wales Online.

Russell Carter of Rumney, Cardiff, is charged with murdering Kingsley Monk last October. The father of three died at the Driverline 247 recruitment agency he ran in New Inn, Pontypool.

Network Rail has named Bechtel as its delivery partner for £2.3bn of work on the £16bn Crossrail scheme and the Reading station upgrade project.

The company is “well financed” to come to the aid of ailing recruiters, according to its managing director Andy Hogarth, who told Recruiter the company is in talks with a “handful” of agencies.
