Britain’s hospitality sector has been boosted by the number of Brits booking Easter breaks within the UK, according to recruiters.

Research from Visit Britain shows that while similar numbers of Brits booked Easter breaks, most were opting to book a break in the UK.

Gary King, director at Collins King & Associates, told Recruiter that this a trend that will continue.

“Clients have noticed an increase over Easter but margins are down. I think more people in the coming months will be staying in the UK

“There is more business coming in but hotels are having to discount. Most weekends it is client bookings and hotels rely on corporate business to push the rates up.”

Hannah Horler, managing director at Cartwheel Recruitment, adds: “I know a couple of clients of mine who took Easter breaks in the UK.

“Hopefully there could be a positive impact on the UK hotel market with more Brits holidaying here during bank holiday and summer breaks, which will naturally help to secure jobs.”
