Impellam Group has announced a loss of £1.4m for the six months ended 30 June 2009.

Turnover fell 2.8% to £501m (£515m : 2008) and gross profit was down 11.4% to £83.6m (June 2008: £94.5m). Operating profit was £0.5m (June 2008: loss £0.1m).

Fees from permanent placements fell 50.9% to £7.9m (June 2008: £15.9m), and now represents 9.4% of gross profit (June 2008: 17%).
