Despite a recruitment freeze, the Northern Ireland Civil Service’s headcount has grown by 1.1% in the past two years, according to BBC News.

The service employed 27,701 people at the start of the year, 300 more than two years ago.

Business secretary Vince Cable has signed an agreement to strengthen UK-Singapore economic ties in a number of sectors.
