MG Rover Group is hoping to negotiate an early end to royalty payments to Honda on the UK company’s small and medium-sized cars. MG Rover uses the basic platform of the early 1990s Honda Civic car. The contract is to run until 2004 when a replacement for the Rover 45 is due.

The electricity regulator Ofgem has invited comments on its review of the formula used to control energy prices, due to expire in March next year. Issues for consultation include the form and structure of the control and impact of new trading arrangements on the National Grid Company’s business, and the charges made by the NGC to its telecommunications associate, Energis.
