The Ministry of Defence’s Joint Services Command and Staff College, a private finance initiative contract, has been value for money, according to a report by the National Audit Office.
Channel tunnel operator Eurotunnel is taking French and British railway companies to court over non-payment of tunnel fees. The French company SNCF, passenger firm Eurostar and freight carrier English, Welsh & Scottish are withholding £15.3 million from this year’s payments of around £45 million, questioning Eurotunnel’s calculations.
Train companies are looking to cut the commission paid to travel agents in a similar move to that made by British Airways.
