Tesco’s announcement that it is to create 800 new jobs in Glasgow is a welcome boost to recruitment in the city and in Scotland. The supermarket chain plans to open a customer service centre for its Tesco Personal Finance business in central Glasgow.

The Association of Recruitment Consultancies (ARC) is urging the government to run a pilot scheme, before introducing the Agency Workers Directive.
