The ‘T’ for ‘technology’ in ATSCo’s name will be replaced by a ‘P’ for ‘professional’ as the trade body extends its reach beyond IT, technology and engineering to other recruitment sectors (see box). The move is designed to draw other professional sectors — broadly defined as industries where a university degree is required to work — under the trade body’s umbrella, expand its existing membership and give it a stronger voice in lobbying matters.
ATSCo currently has 150 member companies.
Richard Herring, vice chairman of the trade body’s executive committee, told Recruiter: “I think one of the great things that ATSCo has achieved over the last five years is to represent the area of industry that operates at the more senior end … the next logical step is to expand that membership into areas that are similar.”
