The number of new financial services posts in the City rose 11% month-on-month, according to March’s Morgan McKinley London Employment Monitor.
The Monitor also reveals that there was a 1% increase in job opportunities across the City compared to the same time the previous year.
Medical careers including doctors surgeons and vets are are the most popular careers among teenagers, according to a poll from Monster.co.uk.
The poll of 500 teenagers aged between 14 and 15 also reveals that 8% said banking was their ideal career, while actor or actress and sports personality received 6% each.

Revenues have risen by 22% at CDI Corporation, according to the international engineering and technology recruiter’s results for Q1 2011.
The group’s results reveal:

EEF’s pay data for the quarter to the end of April 2011 shows that the average pay settlement for the period crept 2.5%, up from 2.4% for the three months to the end of March 2011.
