Permanent staff placements rose in August at an identical rate to July, according to the latest ‘Report on Jobs’.

Professional CV service The Fuller CV has launched a new iPhone app.

The app enables jobseekers to create a professionally formatted CV and allows users to create CVs for job postings the minute they come up, improving their chances of securing an interview.

Additional sections can be added to CVs including publications, awards, technical skills and voluntary work.

The use of cloud recruitment is on the up, according to cloud recruitment firm Resource on Demand (ROD).

The firm says it has seen year-on-year cloud recruitment figures increase by 52.9%.  

DP World, the Dubai-based operator of the London Gateway deep-water port project has announced it is to create 1,000 new jobs “in the coming months”.

Seven hundred of the new jobs will be construction-based, with the other 300 described as port jobs.

The project is due to create around 36,000 jobs in total and will open in Q4 2013.

Oil & gas consultancy Apply Altra is on the hunt for experienced engineers to help double its workforce within Aberdeen.

Apply Altra, which has recruited nearly 10 additional engineers since its launch in May, intends to take on a further 45 members of staff by next spring to bring the total number of employees to 100.
