Kingfisher creates 1,200 new jobs

Home improvement retailer Kingfisher is on the hunt for 1,200 new colleagues.

Home improvement retailer Kingfisher is on the hunt for 1,200 new colleagues.

The group says it will create 230 jobs at its B&Q stores with additional jobs created at 29 former Focus stores acquired earlier this year, in addition to 570 jobs saved at the time of the purchase with a further 1,000 new jobs at its Screwfix stores.

The retailer is also expanding internationally. Earlier this week it announced plans to invest £115m in nine new Castorama stores in Russia over the next two years.

A Screwfix spokesperson told Recruiter: “Those 1,000 roles will be created in the main as a result of the new branch openings across the country. They will be store branch managers and support staff behind those branch managers. We will use conventional formats to recruit - so our own career site, regional press and direct recruitment.”
