While numbers of engineering vacancies have declined in July, there remains a demand for senior talent, according to engineering recruiter Roevin’s recruitment market commentary for July.

InterContinental Hotels Group is looking for front of house and key operational management to fill 3,000 new jobs, according to a spokesperson for the hotel giant.

An InterContinental Hotels spokesperson told Recruiter: “We are opening 28 hotels in the UK over the next two to three years.

IT recruiter Parity Group is preparing for growth as it has seen a return to operating profit, according to interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2011.

The group’s results reveal:

·    Group revenues of £40.80m (2010: £52.59m); up 1% on H2 2010

·    Parity Solutions1 returned to operating profit at £0.12m2 (2010: £1.63m loss3)

Employer demand for new UK workers was maintained in August, according to the latest Reed Job Index.

The index held steady with a reading of 122, unchanged from the previous month, but 20% up year-on-year.

Salaries for new jobs were down two points in August compared to July at 97. 

High street retailer Next is to recruit 1,000 new employees as part of a major new apprenticeship programme.

The new programme has been supported and backed by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), which oversees the delivery of apprenticeships across the England.

SaaS-based talent management provider Taleo has launched Taleo Radar, a new mobile app, which enables professionals to engage with their talent network on the move.

Specialist software solutions company Zeel Solutionsis to move into new premises in late September.

Global recruiter Antal International has opened a Nordics office.

The Denmark office brings its total office network to 103 locations in 33 countries.

The new Copenhagen-based team will cover Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, and will be led by Bjorn Andersen.

An ad placed by recruiter Rightstep Recruitment has been ruled as misleading by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
