Recruiters reminded of importance of paying data fee as ICO issues fines

A least one recruiter is among 34 organisations the Information Commissioner’s Office has taken action against for failing to pay the new data protection fee.
The ICO revealed in a statement yesterday that it had sent notices of its intent to fine the 34 organisations unless they pay. Those that don’t could face a maximum fine of £4,350.
All organisations that process personal data must pay a fee to the ICO unless they are exempt. The fee – dependent on the size of the company – is set by government, which has a...
