More Brits look for career change, finds Monster poll

British workers are the most likely to seek a complete career change as a result of national and global economic woes, ahead of workers from Canada, France, Germany and the US.

A total of 3,400 visitors to job site Monster were asked ‘Are national or global economic troubles causing you to consider a complete career change?’, with the responses:

  • Yes, I am trying to switch my career – 53%
  • Maybe, if I can find a better career – 33%
  • No, my career is not impacted by economic troubles – 14%

The number wanting to change career ranged from 61% of British respondents, ahead of 57% of Americans, 54% of Canadians, 51% of those in France and just 22% of German visitors.
