Think like a soldier online

The British Army has launched the final part of its online Start Thinking Soldier Challenge in which individuals can test their physical aptitude and mental fitness.

Developed by Publicis and Publicis Modem, along with a team of other agencies, it invites visitors to the Mission 4 website to take part in
challenges such as neutralising enemy mortar threats and navigating a parachute jump at night.

Brigadier Jolyon Jackson, commander, Army Recruiting Group, said they were seeing visitors spend an average of 10 minutes on each mission. “The experience provides them with valuable personal insights,” he said. “It also gives us a chance to better understand our potential recruits.”

Publicis managing director Will Arnold-Baker said that employers were realising it wasn’t just about telling a person about the organisation: “It’s as much about finding out about the sort of person they are [the potential employee] and matching your offer to them.”
