The number of recruiters not offering their staff training has almost doubled since the last financial year, according to research from recruitment training provider Lander Associates.

The survey shows that while 10% of consultancies did not offer training to their staff 40% have had their training budgets have been cut.

Fiona Lander, managing director of Lander Associates, says: “This is a worrying trend, however it’s not too surprising that training budgets have been a victim of the problematic economic conditions.

“Recruiters should see this market as an opportunity - investing in staff development now will not only improve quality of service and sales, but boost morale and increase results giving credibility over competitors.”
