FPR meets shadow minister

How would a Conservative government support the recruitment and professional staffing industries? Members of the Forum of Professional Recruiters met with the Shadow DTI minister (DBERR) dealing with corporate governance and business regulations to aid awareness and understanding of just that.

Jonathan Djanogly, MP for Huntingdon, who also holds the role of Shadow Solicitor General, also sought insight into the challenges recruiters are facing, according to a statement released by the FPR today. Speaking on behalf of the FPR, chair Tara Ricks said: “Our industry is facing slower trading conditions than we have seen for many years.”

“To compound the economic slowdown, we are rapidly seeing the impact of legislation that has been unrolled under the current Labour government — whether related directly to business, or to employment status. We provide a critical service to employers and now more than ever, we need to work in partnership with business and government to ensure good recruitment policies are in place that provide the right framework for trading.

“...It was reassuringly evident that the Conservative approach is one of listening, engaging and responding to business to ensure understanding of legislative impact across the broad commercial picture and find mutually acceptable solutions where possible,” Ricks said.
