Leeds-based Better Placed Recruitment, the specialist sales and marketing recruitment consultancy, has appointed Paul Bendelow to head up its new executive search and selection division. Better Placed Executive will focus on retained search and selection


Bendelow is best placed in BPR’s new executive division

Leeds-based Better Placed Recruitment, the specialist sales and marketing recruitment consultancy, has appointed Paul Bendelow to head up its new executive search and selection division. Better Placed Executive will focus on retained search and selection briefs for senior sales and marketing executives in the salary bracket £60,000 to £200,000, across all business sectors, from financial services and fast-moving consumer goods (fmcg) to commercial and industrial.

Bendelow previously held senior positions in Leeds and London with EMR Group and Imprint Search and Selection. BPR director Andrew Gibson said: “The success of the region’s economy is creating enormous growth in demand for senior people in sales and marketing. Paul has a tremendous knowledge of the marketplace and an excellent network of contacts.”

Bendelow added: “BPR is a relatively young consultancy with a rapidly growing reputation. I’m really looking forward to helping extend that reputation into the executive sector with Better Placed Executive.”

UK pension recruiters Branwell Ford has appointed Fiona Barnes and Katherine Bass as consultants to join the team based in Hertfordshire.

Atlan Resource Solutions has appointed Chris Sloan as director of its office in Sale, Cheshire. Sloan will be responsible for recruiting, managing and driving new business growth in the northern region.

 


Suzanne Miller has been promoted to the newly created role of head of organisational development for First People Solutions Group and all its subsidiaries. Miller will be responsible for managing FPSG’s continued internal development through its people and their performance.

Steve Durbin has joined IT outsourcing services provider Harvey Nash as head of technology practice within its executive search division. Durbin takes over from Nick Marsh who has been promoted to global managing director for executive search.

Penta Consulting, provider of information communication and technology staffing solutions, has appointed Sam Batters as permanent team leader, responsible for a team of four senior consultants focusing on the banking and investment sector.

 


Commercial recruiter Extra Personnel has appointed three managers to head up the main divisions of industrial, commercial and transport at its Burton, Derbyshire, branch. Ian Barrett will head up the industrial division, from managing the industrial division at Extra’s Walsall branch. Scott Kempin joins from Right4Staff to manage the transport division. Emma Freeth (left) will have responsibility for the commercial division.

National technical recruiter RGB has appointed Phillip Dodd as managing director, Paul Doran has been promoted to sales director and Neil Connor has been promoted to operations director. Graeme Lingenfelder has been promoted to associate director, with responsibility for the London branch.

Sheila Flavell and Andrew Brown have joined the board of directors at international IT services provider FDM Group.


Specialist construction recruiter Hill McGlynn has appointed existing Newcastle manager David Gill (top left) as Scottish branch manager in its newly launched office in Glasgow. Gill will divide his time between the two offices. Jonathan Allan (centre left) joins the Glasgow branch as team leader, along with Paul Johstone (bottom left) as senior consultant.

 

 

 



National recruitment group HR GO has promoted Laura King to managing director HR GO (Kent), with responsibility for overseeing HR GO’s eight branches within Kent and Sussex. Jo Smith (right) joins her on the management team as operations director.

Sarah Penny has joined market research recruiter Hasson Associates Recruitment as senior associate within the research and insight industry.

Square One Resources, the specialist IT and pharma recruitment agency, has appointed Paul Mewis as pharma sales manager.

Johanna Magnelin joins the investor relations team from Royal Dutch Shell and Stephen Smith joins the VMA Group’s northern practice from Michael Page International.

High street recruiter Aligra Personnel has appointed Lisa Pankau as operations consultant for driving at its Abingdon, Oxfordshire operation.
