Margins easing for IT and telecoms recruiters

Margins are easing in the IT and telecoms sector but competition for talent remains, according to Linda Kennedy, vice president of people, Orange UK.

Margins are easing in the IT and telecoms sector but competition for talent remains, according to Linda Kennedy, vice president of people, Orange UK.

Kennedy told Recruiter: “Margins remain competitive, though there are early signs that economic recovery is driving upward pressure on margins.  However, in general, agencies are still hungry for business and are keen to capture market share after such a prolonged and deep-rooted recession.  Opportunities still exist for corporates with high recruiting volumes to leverage their scale and secure reduced margins, but on the flip side, upper-quartile candidates are still sought after by ambitious corporates, allowing good agencies to exert some negotiating power in PSL discussions.”
