Eight in 10 IT jobseekers have failed to find new roles using social networking sites, according to a survey from The IT Job Board.

The survey of 540 IT candidates found that while half of all respondents had used LinkedIn to search for jobs and almost a third of IT professionals (32%) would like to be headhunted through such sites, 80% had failed to land a new job.

Favoured recruitment channels for IT professionals remain job boards (42%) and recruitment consultants (30%).
