HR recruiter HR GO Malaga’s team trip to the Gibraltar office last week was held up by over 400 angry council workers protesting over unpaid salaries.

HR recruiter HR GO Malaga’s team trip to the Gibraltar office last week was held up by over 400 angry council workers protesting over unpaid salaries.

James Appleby, managing director of HR GO Malaga, came into the head office on Tuesday to advise that the office would be unmanned until they could pass through the Spanish border, which was blocked by Spanish police in riot gear armed with batons clashing with around 400 workers.

The Gibraltar Chroniclereports that La Linea’s city council has debts of more than €100m (£90.8m) and more than 1,000 council workers have not been paid for over a month.
