Search specialist Odgers Ray & Berndtson is finding the new England cricket team director.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has created the role for Peter Moores’ successor as coach.

Simon Cummins, head of the international sports practice at Odgers, told Recruiter. “The deadline for applications was 6 March and we are delighted with the response we have had.”

The ECB’s brief is to find someone who has “a successful track record working with individual sporting teams and individual performers”.

Cummins confirmed there was no limit on the number of potential candidates, and that the ECB had not stipulated that the coach should be British.
