Tent and marquee provider Gala Tent aims to create hundreds of new jobs in 200 showrooms across the country next year.

The company plans to take advantage of the job subsidies, apprenticeships and work experience placements made more accessible by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg’s £1bn youth employment scheme, announced two weeks ago.

Gala Tent managing director, Jason Mace, says: “With the new plans put into place we will be needing hundreds of new employees for a variety of roles including management, sales and customer services.

“A problem which many employers come across with young people of today is that often they do not have the appropriate training, which is expensive to do in-house, so the new government policy will be highly welcomed when creating our new staff infrastructure.”
