On-demand recruitment software company Newton will launch a recruitment process outsourcing application later this year and a version of its applicant tracking system (ATS) aimed at recruitment companies early in the new year. Newton is one of several US-based software-as-a-service providers, which is building its international presence this side of the Atlantic.

Newton has always claimed that its approach has been to simplify the recruitment process and increase collaboration between those involved. In line with this thinking, the latest enhancement to its software provides users with an easy-touse performance dashboard that provides real-time reporting data. Joel Passen, co-founder and VP of marketing, told Recruiter that too often recruiters and resourcing professionals still rely on spreadsheets when it comes to management reporting.

“We felt this was silly. Spreadsheets don’t drive conversations between department and hiring managers and are not dynamic,” he said. Passen added that its approach to analytics is in line with the growing trend towards evidence-based management. “If your Monster contact calls you because your contract is about to run out, within 30 seconds you can go to Newton to find out how many hires you’ve made from them. So you base business decisions on evidence not gut instinct.”

Newton has been working with a major French staffing company, as well as the international revenue management company, Model N, which has offices in the UK and India, as well as the US. James O’Brien, Model N’s corporate recruiting manager, said Newton allows the company to quickly review applicants and share them with hiring managers and added: “We are also using Newton to track interview feedback, so everyone on our team is on the same page and our candidates get fast, accurate feedback.”
