BTA reports rise in sales jobs

Sales recruiter BTA Sales Recruitment has reported a 16% increase in UK sales vacancies during the past year.

Sales recruiter BTA Sales Recruitment has reported a 16% increase in UK sales vacancies during the past year.

As well as showing a significant increase in sales positions at all levels within the sector, up 34% on January 2010, the January 2011 industry market research reveals:

• The IT sales sector posted a 19% rise

• Financial sales jobs rose 6.2% on January 2010

• Manufacturing indicated a slight improvement with a 1.7% rise in job vacancies

• Public sector sales roles in a sales were down by 5%

• Sales roles in education sector were also down 12%.

BTA UK director, Ian Harwood, says: “In more recent times we have been experiencing an increased volume of sales vacancies in business services. The research doesn’t really surprise me; we noticed this trend about three or four months ago.”
