The sale of Antal Russia to the FiveTen Group will allow Antal International to beef up its businesses elsewhere in the world, including China, India and Poland, company chief executive Tony Goodwin said last week.
Speaking exclusively to Recruiter, Goodwin said the financial windfall could also lead to other new business ventures for Antal. "It just opens up a whole new level of opportunity," Goodwin said of the sale, which was announced on 25 March.
"We could go into mergers and acquisitions ourselves, we could go into an IPO [initial public offering] on any of the stock exchanges around the world. It takes us onto another platform."
The price was not revealed. However, the significance of the amount will motivate the rest of the Antal group by demonstrating the value of their hard work, Goodwin said: "Everyone is excited by what's happened."
Goodwin worked for FiveTen Group global CEO Graham Palfery-Smith some years ago, and the deal emerged from a lunch meeting the two had last year. Goodwin said he and his team were happy the Russian branch had gone "to a good home". We have a lot of synergies with FiveTen, and people could see it [the sale] wasn't just a cashing in of the chips".
Antal Russia will continue under its current name and operates in a variety of sectors, including marketing, IT and banking.
