AGR manager
The Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, has appointed its first ever operations manager.
The position has gone to Gary Argent, who joins from Logica where he has been the UK graduate recruitment manager since 2004. Argent has worked in the recruitment industry for the last eight years and has been on the AGR board since November 2006. He will take up his new post on 1 August.
As the new AGR operations manager, Argent will work to strengthen relationships with existing members and to attract new members. He will report directly to the chief executive Carl Gilleard and one of his first challenges will be to review the AGR’s marketing strategy. He will also be responsible for the co-ordination of training activities, an area which the organisation plans to expand.
Carl Gilleard said: “Gary has been a fantastic member of the AGR board since he joined in November 2006 and I know he will continue to contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation in his new role. He has terrific experience in the field of graduate recruitment and we cannot wait for him to start.”
