Recruiters say new US president, Barack Obama, will boost the US’s green technology jobs market.

Obama has committed to harnessing the sun, winds and soil to fuel cars and run factories. Andrew Cartland, director at green recruiter Acre, told Recruiter that his firm had already witnessed a 40% increase in US placements on the previous year.

Cartland recruits climate change managers for the US, Europe, Australasia and the UK. He told Recruiter that the US’s reluctance to source its oil from certain countries would drive renewable energy.

James Beazley, director of energy sector recruiter Six Recruitment, predicts that Obama will pour money into greener technologies and into research and development in alternative energies, specifically sustainable biofuels. This, Beazley said, will make the US a great ground for expansion for recruiters that have done well here.
