The government’s goal of a £210 million renewable energy market by 2010 has received a boost with plans for new windfarms in Wales and Scotland. Amec and British Energy have been commissioned to create Europe’s largest windfarm on the Isle of Lewis, off Scotland’s west coast.

The Office of Fair Trading is to publish good practice guidelines for debt management companies. They cover the accuracy of advertisements and contract terms and customer information. The guidelines will be published after a consultation period ends on 9 July, and will be followed later this year by similar recommendations for debt collecting and credit broking.
