Multi-sector recruiter GPW Recruitment and law firm Hattons Solicitors have come together to launch GPW Legal Services.

GPW Legal Services will offer general legal advice, including employment law advice both personal and business, HR advice, contract dispute solutions, debt recovery advice and wills and probate exclusively to its corporate and private clients.

International recruitment software provider Arithon has acquired online timesheet software company Tempsheets.com for an undisclosed sum.

Arithon CEO Roderick Smyth says: “After an exhaustive search for a comprehensive online timesheet software systems we were excited to find a product with the calibre of Tempsheets.com.”

Proposed changes to the EU’s Data Protection Directive could leave recruiters facing an administrative burden and large fines for non-compliance, says John Hayes, partner at law firm Irwin Mitchell.

The number of job offers made within the financial services sector fell by 5% in October, according to a study by City pre-employment screening firm, Powerchex.

The fall in job offers follows falls of 10% in August and 4% in September. Insurance firms (down 3%), hedge funds (down 18%) and investment managers (down 22%) all cut recruitment.
