Monster UK has launched an Android app.

The app alerts candidates with the latest job opportunities on the move, from any location.

Like Monster’s i-Pad and i-Phone app, the Android app can be downloaded for free via the Android Market <https://market.android.com/details?id=com.monster.android.Views>.

International IT services provider FDM Group has opened a new office at 14 Wall Street in New York.

The new office and training centre is on the 31st floor of the original Bankers Trust Building, formerly investment bank JP Morgan’s penthouse suite in the financial centre of New York.

US unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, dropped to 9.4% at the end of April from 9.6% in mid-April and 9.9% at the end of March.

Unemployment now stands at its lowest level of 2011 and is lower than the 9.6% at the end of April last year.

International recruitment giant Kelly Services has seen revenues rise in its results for the first quarter of the year. 

Revenues have risen by 19% on the same quarter last year to $1.3bn (£79m).

The UK has demonstrated the highest increases in candidate confidence, according to a global survey from recruitment giant Randstad.

The latest quarterly Workmonitor survey reveals in Q1 two thirds of UK employees (64%) are confident that they could secure comparable work with a different employer within six months, up 8% on Q4 2010.

Commercial and industrial recruiter, Blue Arrow, has opened a new branch in Harrow, North-West London.

Demand for management level hires fell by 10.1 points in May from April, according to the latest CareerCast.com/JobSerf Employment Index.

However, the reading remains 11.5 points higher than a year ago.

Tony Lee, publisher, CareerCast.com, says: “The decrease in hiring this month is a slight setback in the recovery we have been seeing throughout 2011.

The board of education support services firm Tribal Group has announced that it is no longer in discussions with any party regarding a potential offer for the company.

In a statement, the firm says it has received confirmations from each party with whom it was in talks that they are no longer considering an offer for the company.

Directors and senior recruitment executives gathered in London last week at the launch of Simplicity, the rebranded provider of back office services Cash Simply.

Financial and insurance recruiter Highams Systems has continued to see improved demand for its services as it revenues rise, according to its interim results for the six months ended 30 September 2010.

The group’s results reveal:

· revenue £4.41m (2009: £3.77m) up 17%

· gross profit £770,000 (2009: £572,000) up 35%
