The recruitment manager for Nokia in the UK has warned recruitment agencies not to “mess with” the company’s brand.

Executive search firm CTPartners has appointed Rob Hines as managing partner in its new Toronto office.   

Ian Thornley has joined the board at Logical Resourcing Executive Search.

Thornley is the founder and managing director of Staffing Partners and was previously chief executive of Right4Staff.

Thornley will work alongside the current directors and existing shareholders, Robert Carlton and Gillian Dumigan.  

Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel has appointed Amanda Williams as human resources manager.

Williams was previously HR team leader at London Marriott Maida Vale and London Marriott Regents Park, and HR manager at Waltham Abbey Marriott. She will also take on the role of acting director of human resources as maternity cover for HR director Nicola Riley from May.

OPD in MBO talks 

Capita is in the final stages of negotiations of a deal with Virgin Money, the group has announced in an interim management statement covering the four months to 30 April 2010.

Law firm Davies Arnold Cooper’s Employment Group has appointed Nick Hine as a partner.

Hine joins from law firm Thomas Eggar where he was head of its London employment team.

Hospitality and leisure recruiter Berkeley Scott has appointed Alan Hogg to head up its general managers division.

Hogg started his hotel career with Grand Metropolitan. As general manager he has managed, operated and successfully opened and repositioned new and existing hotels in London, the UK and Europe.
