While the latest Report on Jobs from KMPG and the Recruitment & Employment Confederation reveals a reduced rate of growth of new jobs, construction professionals remain among the most in-demand.

Improved business conditions contributed to a 13% rise in revenue at international staffing company Adecco in Q2.

The KellyOGC Global RPO Report 2010 found that 54% of respondents cited quality of candidates as slowing the recruitment process.

International recruiter Kelly Services has appointed Sally Cleary as head of business development for the UK and Ireland.

 ESH’s stable includes Birmingham-based Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG), which was acquired by ESH in September 2008.  

Interim management and public sector recruitment specialist Sand Resources has appointed Anthony Butler as director of corporate accounts.

Butler will manage and oversee the delivery of Sand’s corporate accounts.

Matt Jessop has joined Randstad Corporate & Managed Services as director of projects & implementation.

Starbucks has launched a new recruitment strategy in which it will favour applicants who want to volunteer in the community, as well as aiming to improve customer service by increasing investment in skills and cutting staff turnover.


The new skills and training strategy sees Starbucks commit to providing:

Most of interim professionals do not see the market improving for a very long time, according to new data from the Institute of Interim Management.

The data shows that 92% of those surveyed do not anticipate the market improving for a very long time, while 86% do not see any improvement until late next year and 61% by the start of next year.
