An advert in a local newspaper entitled “halifaxjobstoday.co.uk Launch of new Halifax focused jobs website…” has breached the advertiser’s code of conduct because the advertiser Johnston Press, trading as HalifaxJobsToday, did not make it clear that they are an employment agency.

Human capital solutions provider CareerBuilder has acquired CareerSite.biz.

CareerSite.biz operates two online recruitment niche sites - StaffNurse.com focusing on nursing and RailwayPeople.com for railway workers, as well as virtual career fair site VirtualFair.co.uk.

Financial services recruiter Contracting Solutions Group has announced that turnover fell by 12.5% in its results for the year ended 31 January 2009.

The firm recorded turnover of £31.6m in the period but profit before interest and tax increased to £856,000, up from £547,000 in 2008.

International recruiter Fusion People has announced that it is looking to buy owner-managed recruitment businesses that operate in specialist, niche or vertical markets.
