UK recruitment is set to slow sharply, according to the latest Labour Market Outlook survey from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and KPMG. 

Just 9% of graduates would choose working in the public sector over the private and charity sectors, according to new research from totaljobs.com.

The research also shows 20% of recent graduates have been looking for a job for over a year, with 31% claiming they would take any job that came along.

A combination of acquisitions and an emphasis on its “onsite” model have helped industrial recruiter Staffline post rising revenues, according to its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2011.

The group’s results reveal:

HR and corporate communications recruiter VMA Group has appointed Andrew Holland as senior consultant for the business’s internal communications division.

Holland has over 16 years experience in internal communications, most recently holding the position of UK head of internal communications for defence contractor BAE Systems.

Social media and HR recruiter Talent Genius has launched LinkedIn 2 Business, a LinkedIn training provider.

Managing director Steve Smithson says the training will be provided to businesses and individuals at all levels of experience, including recruitment agencies.

Technical recruiter Gold Group has appointed Matt Price as team leader of its contract services division.

Price has a background in team management and contract recruitment in the mechanical and electrical and construction sectors.
