Scottish Power is keen to recruit graduates and apprentices to fill 1,500 new roles in a bid to help lower the age profile of the industry, according to a spokesperson for the energy giant.
News website Sky.com reports the energy firm has unveiled plans to create 1,500 jobs over the next decade.
The UK economy grew by just 0.7% in the past year, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
