• Macmillan Davies has appointed Amy Smith associate director and head of interim recruitment in London. Smith has over 10 years’ experience working within the interim field spanning numerous sectors across the UK and internationally. Over the duration of her career, she has placed more than 200 candidates in new interim positions, both long and short term across all levels of seniority, from junior through to COO.

• Recruitment and staffing solutions company Nicholas Associates has appointed Michael Alderson as business manager. With 27 years’ permanent and temporary recruitment solutions experience in the built environment, Alderson will spearhead growth in the civil engineering, commercial building and house building sectors from a new Leeds office and expand services across Yorkshire.

The new office will be on Park Row in the city’s business district and will specialise in temporary and permanent recruitment solutions for the built environment, as well as meeting the needs of other core sector clients that work in the civil engineering and commercial building sectors.

The group recently announced the formation of an entirely new specialist recruitment and staffing solutions company called Aristotle Partnerships.

• Recruitment services provider Omni has appointed Louise Shaw as managing director, following the retirement of current MD Martin Wainman, who will continue to support the Omni board in a consultancy capacity. Shaw has been a member of Omni’s board for over four years and brings her extensive understanding and knowledge of Omni’s clients to her new role. She has led the resourcing transformation team and a number of major strategic projects, including a partnership with the CIPD.
