HRS appoints Vicentuan and Webber to drive business forward

Hyper Recruitment Services (HRS), a scientific recruitment company specialising in life science recruitment, has made two significant appointments.

Founded by former The Apprentice winner Ricky Martin and backed by Lord Sugar, the company has brought Ben Vicentuan (above right) on board as head of talent acquisition & engagement and Luke Webber (above left) as sales director to help grow the company.

Vicentuan started his recruitment career at Hays, where he eventually led internal recruitment for London and the Home Counties. Moving on to Randstad, then internationally at InterQuest, he returned to the UK to head up internal recruitment for Roc Search’s UK and European operation.

“I wasn’t really looking, but I was approached by HRS and really bought in to their story, values, vision and team,” Vicentuan told Recruiter. “I’ve been tasked to build a function, which I’m really looking forward to. Exciting times, particularly with international plans in the pipeline also!”

Webber joins HRS as sales director “to support our international future and birth of ‘clinical’ at HRS”, HRS managing director Martin told Recruiter

Working nearly 15 years within the life sciences industry that has involved working as a DMPK (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics) scientist for GSK, Webber has around 13 years’ staffing experience gained mainly from working for life sciences recruiter ProClinical, joining the company as a founding member in 2008 and working there for 12 years until 2020.

ProClinical grew from a business of less than 10 people to a global enterprise with offices in 14 different locations and a staff of more than 200 people.

“From there I progressed into a contract leadership position and oversaw the global growth of ProClinical’s contractor book,” Webber said. “Over a period of seven years we grew the book to have over 450 global contractors.

“I joined HRS to be part of an entrepreneurial business that is looking to expand and progress into their next chapter. I am here to build out and lead the sales function … selling the full suite of services that HRS offers.”
