New tool helps Basque HR professionals fill talent shortages

A new tool launched by non-profit organisation Bizkaia Talent aims to help Basque-based employers fill talent shortages, particularly in engineering and software development.

The tool – the Headhunting Support Centre (HSC) – is aimed at helping Basque HR professionals with their staff recruitment strategies in their organisations, not only in terms of obtaining highly qualified talent which matches their needs, but also to streamline processes and resources, and provide assistance in career development plans.

Registered users will have access to a specific section about salaries where they can consult the average gross and net rates for salaries in the Basque labour market (by sector, sub-sector, post and experience) and compare these rates with those on offer across main Spanish cities, as well as in other countries in Europe and the rest of the world.

Commenting on the tool, Bizkaia Talent managing director, Ivan Jimenez, revealed the region has issues filling talent shortages in the engineering and software development sectors in particular but added: “With this new tool we continue with our strong commitment to innovation and technology to facilitate the development and linking of talent with the Basque Country, positioning our organisation and nation as an international benchmark in terms of talent management.”

To complement the launch, Bizkaia Talent has also revamped its Career Development Centre (CDC), which targets skilled professionals – such as technicians, engineers and software developers – seeking to work in the Basque Country.
