Thousands apply to move and work in Estonia thanks to Career Hunt

Estonia’s Career Hunt recruitment campaign has attracted thousands of applications from technology specialists from all over the world.
The Baltic nation’s programme has partnered with firms Axinom, Finestmedia, Global Gaming Group, Helmes, Nortal, Proekspert, Skype, Swedbank, Taxify, Topia, Twilio and Veriff to offer applicants the chance to visit Estonia, without paying travel costs, to investigate the available options before deciding to relocate.
Selected candidates will be treated to a five-day trip to Estonia, during which they will meet with IT firms, visit the NATO Cyber Defence Centre and robotics festival ahead of their job interview. It is an opportunity to explore this country as a place to work and live, including sauna-experience, Estonia’s cuisine, urban city tour, local craft beer and more.
Last week, head of project Kaisa-Triin Kosenkranius revealed the campaign had attracted 4,500 applicants ahead of the application deadline, which was on 23 September.
Updating Recruiter, Kosenkranius revealed 5,530 candidates from 126 different countries had now applied, with applicants being processed ahead of the next phase of the process – interviews with employers. The selected 20 tech specialists will then be flown to Estonia at the end of November for a five-day all-inclusive career trip.
