Aviation manufacturing jobs in Northern Ireland

A County Tyrone aviation firm is recruiting an additional 210 staff.

ITV news reports Mallaghan Engineering in Dungannon, a manufacturer of ground support equipment such as baggage conveyors and stairs for commercial aircraft, is developing an airport bus as part of a multimillion-pound investment, which is expected to require 210 new staff over five years.

Elsewhere, RTE reports Abbott Ireland has confirmed it is planning to expand its workforce in Donegal and create 500 new jobs.

The Lurganboy-based firm manufactures and distributes products for the treatment of diabetes.

According to RTE, a spokesperson for Abbott said the company was also expanding manufacturing in the US. “We are not disclosing details of the investment or the timeline, but it is a multi-year project,” the spokesperson added.
