Dogged determination makes for pawsome ending to search for canine critic

Dog-friendly travel company Canine Cottages’ search for a canine critic is over.

You may remember back in March Recruiter brought you a story about the recruitment drive for a discerning doggy to carry out property reviews for Canine Cottages.

We can now reveal that one-year-old cockapoo Poppy – already a seasoned explorer – has landed the role. She has been branded ‘quite the little mountain goat’ while dragging her owners up various mountains around the UK and enjoying a 10-day road trip around Scotland to celebrate her 1st birthday.

Commenting on the company’s recruitment process, Canine Cottage’s marketing manager Georgina Allen said the firm was “blown away” by the number of applications for the role.

“Narrowing the applications down from thousands to the final three was incredibly difficult, so we let the public have the final say! Poppy is exactly the pooch we were looking for: her love for adventure and travelling will make her the perfect critic of our properties and locations. We’re excited to be sending the trio on their first assignment and can’t wait to follow their adventures online.”

Accompanying Poppy on her trips, and documenting and reviewing their stays, will be her owners Cara Whitehouse and Andy Jarvis, who both live in Cheltenham.

Poppy enjoys paddling, digging, snuggles and unearthing hidden gems off the tourist trails, but is deadly frightened of wheelie bins – so let’s hope she doesn’t encounter packs of bin men on her travels.
