FINANCIALS: Randstad reveals increase from UK business

Randstad has seen revenue from its UK business increase 2% year-on-year, according to results for the second quarter of the 2017.

The results, published this morning, reveal the recruitment giant saw revenue of €5,866m (£5,245m), up 9% from €5,108m in Q2 2016. Gross profit was up 8%, up from €963.3m to €1,194.2m, and strong increases in revenue from the group’s European (up 11%) and Rest of the World (up 12%) businesses. However, growth was more muted for Randstad’s North America business (up 1%).

Commenting on the group’s results, Randstad CEO Jacques van den Broek said: "In Q2, our organic sales growth accelerated to the highest level since 2011, driven by double-digit growth in Europe.

"Also momentum in the Rest of the World region improved versus Q1, while growth in our North American business was stable. We are satisfied with the progress of our acquisitions and remain very excited about their future contribution to the group.”

He added the company was working hard on its digital transformation to help clients and candidates: “This is showing the first good signs in margin development in our Dutch professionals business as technology supports our consultants, as well as in our French perm business, by providing additional services through better insights based on big data.”
