US temporary staffing provider Command Center has taken a significant financial hit in North Dakota, resulting in decreased revenue and operating profit for the three months to 25 September.

It’s third quarter unaudited financial statement, released yesterday, shows:

• 10.5% year-on-year decrease in revenue to US$24.9m (£16.4m)

• Gross profit decreased year-on-year to $6.5m from $7.7m

• Operating income decreased year-on-year to $1.4m from $2.5m

• Net income of $820k compared to $6m

The company’s financial statement notes revenue from branches outside North Dakota grew by 6.5% year-on-year, but the increase was offset by the 47% decline from the seven North Dakota branches.

The statement points to falling oil prices since Q3 last year but adds the state remains profitable for the company.
