Shanghai Disney is about to launch a large-scale recruitment drive to prepare for its opening next year.

The Shanghai Daily reports the resort, still under construction, is to create thousands of jobs. A jobs fair is to be held in Shanghai’s Zhabei district between 21-24 October, specifically targeting Chinese nationals.

A search of the resort's careers site shows vacancies in HR, facilities management, stage production, administration, finance and accounting, hotel operators, IT, food service and more. It also shows vacancies for specific roles including “happy owner, attractions operators”, to test the park equipment before opening, and costume assistants and fireworks technicians. The site also has a graduates and interns recruitment portal.

The resort, while adhering to traditional Disney themes, such as Mickey Mouse, will also incorporate Chinese elements, according to the careers site.

The news follows the announcement last month of more than 1,000 jobs at Dubai Parks and Resorts.
