Oman Air has expanded its recruitment drive for Omani nationals to become pilots with the airline.

The Arabian Aerospace Online news service reports Oman’s national airline is seeking both experienced and non-experienced graduates.

Successful applicants with no flight experience or training will be enrolled in the airline’s Cadet Pilot training programme followed by a type-rated course, while those that have undergone flight training previously will be enrolled as second officers on a type rated course.

A type-rating certification enables a pilot to fly a certain aircraft type that requires additional training beyond the scope of the initial licence and aircraft-class training.

Recruitment in advance of the start date of the training programmes is to be announced in local Omani media with candidates invited to apply at this time.
