Finnish cloud firm Hammerkit opens office and creates jobs in Liverpool

Fri, 20 Jan 2012

Finnish cloud technology provider Hammerkit has received a €1.25m (£1.05m) investment package and plans to create 12 jobs in Liverpool this year, and 40-50 in the next three to four years.

The investment comprised £435k from the North-West Fund for Venture Capital, managed by EV, and the North-West Fund for Digital & Creative, managed by AXM. Finnish investor Veraventure provided an equal amount, with Tekes, the Finnish funding agency for technology and innovation, making up the total.

Hammerkit opened an office at Liverpool Science Park in October 2010, having been formed in 2006 in Helsinki.

The company provides solutions for the PR and marketing industries, and has worked with global PR agencies Edelman in Latin America and Hill+Knowlton Strategies in Europe.

Will Clark, investment director of EV, says: “This investment will allow the company to develop a permanent North-West base to service its target client base of global PR agencies, which typically have a large UK presence.”
